Niko’s Law

Inspired by her son, Niko’s Law is a proposed Florida bill for 2027 — written so that when a court has spoken, the children most vulnerable to disruption are not left waiting for clarity.

  1. Clear guidancefor law enforcement in helping to enforce lawful custody and time-sharing orders.
  2. Child safety, paramountas the first consideration in every response.
  3. Vulnerability, recognizedfor children with disabilities such as autism and Cornelia de Lange syndrome.
  4. A modern definitionof “missing child,” to include a child wrongfully withheld in violation of a court order.
  5. Trainingrequired for the law enforcement officers asked to carry it out.

Niko’s Law is proposed legislation for the 2027 Florida session. It has not been filed or enacted, and its final text may change.
